Solar powered, eco friendly Queensland Pacific Metals nickel and cobalt are going to be in Tesla batteries
Just another news in the future tense, 2 years past and they’ve changed nothing basically
I'm in! NOT!!!
The whole EV battery research marathon should've started back around 1997 when the Saturn EV 1 came out.
Nice but when will the grid be able to handle autos to to electric. California has wind power and solar and still has rolling blackouts
What about the following? https://www.smithsonianmag.com/innovation/did-researchers-stumble-battery-lasts-forever-180958955/
I have the premium power grid, V2G, EV, EV battery, and autonomous transportation domains up for acquisition. Important domains for consolidating the global infrastructure of the energy, and transportation industries: "Land, Sea, Air, and Space". Details, visit; https://selfdrivingauto.webs.com – $600,000 US referral commission.
I watched this video trying to find out the company name they should have displayed it better
And after all this million dollar research, the Chinese Will just easily copy it without remorse…..and sell it with cheap price….
All they do is BLA BLa BLa BLa … you see 0 actually technology.
This is just marketing bull crap to get more money from investors.
Hemp for batteries!!!
Who else was sent here cause of chemistry class
Why not just plug your phone into a potato and be done with it. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Yeay..I kinda think its a scam..But interesting..would like to get rich..Dont we all
i wish they would just say what the stock is to invest in while reading..then you have to buy there stuff to find out..and then they make money.
I seen battery last forever was deleted from utube .
Magnetic battery
It's not "IntercOllation"! It's intercAlation!!! It means that lithium ions diffuse through graphite layers!. Correct it or leave the science business news
More pollution. Just use hemp and preserve our world
graphene
I believe using silicon to replace graphite has its challenges. I think graphite have a longer life than silicon but silicon has a higher energy density by shorter life. Ive heard of a hybrid of silicon and graphite. wonder if that would be a better solution?
Musk for president
in short they can do 40% but if they did it all in one go , theres nothing to make and sell and make more money so here have 2 % then another 2% and so on for the next 20 years …again a money greedy company just like any other who really doesn't care about what they are working on aka the passion to deliver
A little bit of silicon makes everything better
Lithium is kinda poisonous…kinda.
XNRGI – maybe..?
NBC News: Silicone != Silicon. Please learn the difference and pronounce it correctly. And yes a Silicon electrode framework would be a major improvement.
Ion lithium and carbon it will do our best
I only came to read the comments
If its as good as you say… Why not approach companies that make batteries already and have them sign a deal to produce them for you to be able to scale up quicker and get to market sooner? This sounds like the exact same technology that John B. Goodenough's protege discovered with your own slight twist on it.
"silicone"
Is this company based in Los Angeles?
Sure, let's replace graphite, which we have in abundance, and replace it with a rare material. What a great idea for mass production!
This is an example of hiring a cheap PR firm
Come back when you have a product not hype.
Ha australian scientists just patented new battery tech.
Omg, what a nonsense puff piece…Headline: guy wants to replace graphite anode with silicon anode of undisclosed composition, making batteries potentially more energy dense. Done! This was PR for this company, not a meaningful analysis of this technology or of the state of battery tech today, which, thankfully, has many players and many potential amazing things (much more amazing than this, most likely) around the corner in coming years. Thankful to see some other people have noted the same. Do better NBC – don't waste my time.
Anybody got a link to a video that shows the real current status?
Not to worry; AI will design super efficient miniature high power storage batteries for 10 cents/kilowatt (battery cost) in less than 3 minutes. They will have a useful life span of 12 years.
I have been adding cellulous fiber from furniture and my old parkas to a 55 gal drum for about 5 yrs or so and it's compressed in there.
..I wanted to use it an absorber for carbon ink to make batteries. I was planning to use recycled ink from the recycle depot in our town of Selkirk mb. Unfortunately the powers that be let it all go to the landfill when the buildings came up for sale.
..it's a project on the backburner now. You may want to consider this very porous insulation as a graphine nanostructures and go with it. Sound like you guys and gals have more money than you'll ever use.
Electrolyte? everyone moving to solid-state, which removed risks. Dalhousie just announced tech that supersedes this already. Although their progress is in the seperator. Maybe you can apply your graphic recipe for the storage side to the separator tech.

Bottom line…if you can't get an EV battery to recharge to a 400-mile range in 5-10 mins., it won't move the needle much in getting people interested to buy electric cars. Until EV's can match the convenience and practicality of ICEV's, there will be NO EV revolution anytime soon.
So… the proprietary, synthesized material is more than likely graphite doped with silicon? Right?
I don’t care about powering my car. Just my lightsaber.
All of this is cool, but it isn't Goodenough kind of tech.
I hope they meant silicon not silicone
is they a way to buy shares of john goodenough compagny? anyone know the ticker?
Solid State Batteries would replace the current batteries NOT this as Solid State Batteries will be environmentally friendly, cheaper and much much more.
How about investing all the money into energy storage research instead of weapons / war?
LTO in the market no country can compete this battery.
Ok Lithium exists, Lead acid exists, carbon foam exists, nothing exist in my mind unless I can buy it all the rest is hype.
